Caring for Your Women's Puffer Jacket

CARE NOTES (A LITTLE LOVE GOES A LONG WAY)

PREPARATION

Close all zippers and turn the vest/jacket inside out, and check pockets. Make sure to fix any rips of holes before washing

REDUCING WASHES

Frequent washing breaks down the insulation; treat stains individually rather than washing the whole garment when possible.

DETERGENT

Use only specialized down cleaners

HAND WASHING YOUR PUFFER JACKET

For a gentle clean, consider handwashing your jacket with a non-detergent soap and but be sure to rinse it thoroughly afterwards. After washing, spread your jacket out on a towel, then roll the excess water out—never wring or twist the jacket.

MACHINE WASH WITH CAUTION

Down-filled garments can be delicate to care for at home. Improper washing or drying may cause the filling to clump, flatten, or lose its shape.

If you do choose to machine wash:

• Use a cold (30°C max), gentle cycle with a down-specific detergent only
• Avoid fabric softeners, bleach, or harsh detergents
• Never wring or twist
• We suggest to wash the jacket on its own or with similar lightweight gear

DRYING IS KEY

Restoring the loft requires time and patience.

Tumble Drying:
Tumble dry on low heat with dryer balls or 2-3 tennis balls, and allow plenty of time. The dryer/tennis balls will bounce around and agitate the down, breaking down clumps and allowing the dry air to penetrate more deeply. Continue drying until your vest or jacket has returned to its original loft. If you can still feel clumps of down, continue drying.
Be sure to check the jacket frequently to make sure the fabric is not getting too hot.

Air-Drying:
Lay the jacket flat on a clean towel in a well-ventilated, sunny area.  Turn the jacket every few hours and gently shake it to redistribute down. Keep shaking the jacket until completely dry to restore the loft. Allow up to 48 hours to fully dry before storing.
