The corals were plucked from the archives of Jean Vincent Felix Lamouroux, a French naturalist documenting marine life in the 1820s, and the fish are lithographs by American artist Andrew Garrett from the late 1800s. Two scientists, two continents, several decades apart — and absolutely no idea they were destined to end up on the same swimwear print together.
